NOW Foods 5-HTP is a plant-based source of amino acid that naturally supports serotonin production in the central nervous system. 5-Hydroxytryptophan (5-HTP) is the intermediate metabolite between the amino acid tryptophan (L-Tryptophan) and the neurotransmitter serotonin. High serotonin levels in the body improve sleep and enhance mood. Therefore, it is mainly used to regulate the body’s circadian rhythm and to help manage anxiety and depression.

5-HTP promotes deep and restful sleep. Sleep is a very important factor in the body’s recovery process after intense exercise. Supplementing with 5-HTP helps increase serotonin levels, enabling athletes to relax and reduce stress during intense training.
