As well as helping you to feel sharper, peppermint oil contains menthol, which is known for its relaxing and soothing properties. It can be particularly effective when used in a massage by adding a few drops into a carrier oil of your choice.

And if you want even more for your senses, peppermint blends well with eucalyptus, lavender or rosemary.

Ways to use

• Add to a diffuser to fill your room with a fresh, energising aroma. The aromas of peppermint may also support a sharper, clearer mind
• Dilute 4-6 drops for every 20ml of blending oil if you want to add to your bath or feel revived with an invigorating massage
• Spiders hate the smell of peppermint! So, you could use it to help to deter any unwanted eight-legged intruders and other pesky bugs
